About the brand

pHformula is a pharma-cosmeceutical skincare brand that offers non-invasive dermatological skin resurfacing treatments and also home care products to treat a variety of skin conditions. pHformula skin resurfacing works by using controlled active solutions to renew, rebuild, and rejuvenate the skin from within by promoting exfoliation and regeneration.

With the option of in-clinic skin resurfacing treatments, a home skincare range, and combining the two for optimal results, this brand is able to be tailored to each individual’s skin goals and concerns. For more information on the home skincare range, please click here.

Unlike traditional chemical peels, pHformula uses a unique delivery complex that safely delivers the acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and anti-inflammatory ingredients to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin, protecting the skin barrier. These active ingredients in pHformula formulations boost cell turnover, promote collagen production, and speed up the skin’s natural repair processes.

What is Customised Skin Resurfacing

The key to pHformula Customised Skin Resurfacing lies in its personalised approach. As a pHformula Skin specialist, the treatment starts with assessment of the skin’s unique needs to identify the most appropriate treatment plan using pHformula’s powerful range of resurfacing products. These advanced pharma-cosmeceutical products contain active ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), retinoids, peptides, and antioxidants, which work synergistically to promote skin renewal, improve texture, and aim to correct a variety of skin concerns.

What can customised skin resurfacing help?

pHformula skin resurfacing in-clinic treatments are suitable for a wide range of skin concerns, including:

Aging skin: by improving skin quality, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and age spots by promoting collagen production and skin elasticity.

Hyperpigmentation: lifting dark spots and evening out skin tone.

Acne and scarring: by helping to manage acne outbreaks and inflammation, and reducing scarring by controlling all production and enhancing cell renewal.

Chronic redness and rosacea: by calming inflammation and strengthening the skin barrier, which can improve the appearance of redness and sensitivity.

Dehydration and dullness: by rehydrating and refreshing the skin, restoring a healthy glow and improved texture.

What does the procedure involve?

The in-clinic skin resurfacing treatments involve a customised process tailored to your individual skin type and concerns. Depending on type of treatment based upon individual skin concerns, the process can involve the following steps.

  1. Skin assessment: As your skin specialist, I will evaluate your skin’s condition on the day and customise the pHformula treatment to meet the specific needs of your own skin. There is no one fits all approach.
  2. Cleansing and preparation: The skin is cleansed thoroughly and primer is applied to degrease, remove impurities and prepare for the treatment.
  3. S.P Complex (Skin sensitivity test): Depending on the protocol followed, will determine the need for this step. The skin sensitivity test is a perfect guide to assess and prepare your skin for optimum results. Knowing your skin sensitivity level will guide us in prescribing the correct skin resurfacing protocol.
  4. Application of resurfacing solution and treatments: The type of pHformula active solution will be applied and may include other skincare products such as masks depending on protocol followed.
  5. POST Recovery and SPF: Once the active solutions and other treatments are complete, this is followed by a post-recovery cream and SPF to ensure your skin is protected from UV rays.

Depending on the length of treatment chosen and protocol followed, variations can include LED light therapy*, deep nourishing skincare masks, other active products, and it can even include microneedling or nano-needling with vitamin solutions for an additional cost (£45) to really help boost collagen production and encourage the ingredients to work on a deeper level.

(*LED light therapy only available at The Clinic, Norwich location)

How many treatments are recommended?

For best results, it’s recommended to have a minimum course of 3+ treatments spaced apart. Single treatments can also be completed down to budget and also as a maintenance. Depending on the level of active skin resurfacing solution applied can determine how frequently this is completed every 2-6 weeks, and can be adjusted to align with budget.

First treatment includes home care

The first treatment cost includes a pHformula home skincare kit, that is prescribed on assessment of individual skincare need. Skincare kits include 1x EXFO cleanse, 1x Active product (A.C, C.R, AGE, MELA) and 1x POST recovery cream.

When the pHformula home skincare range is used in combination with an in-clinic treatment, these products include a home active prescription, here you can really optimise your results by continuing skincare at home. To learn more about the skincare range click here.
